Seven Sorrowful Verses (七哀詩) by Cao Zhi (曹植)

Moonlight shines ‘pon tall buildings, those beams dithering wayward
Worried wondering wife on, lamenting grief unending
Who laments, dare we all ask? A rover’s wife, she just is.
Husband off a decade plus, the lonely wife oft is lone
If his road is clear of dust, her lake is turbid with dirt
Rise, sink at different trends; when they meet, will they be good?
A wish to be southwest wind, to die within his embrace
If his arms do not open, what could humble she count on?
