While Sir Yan despaired over his life of toil and endured a hefty dose of suffering in the palace, the thing he was concerned about — the Estate of the Marquis of Jing Ning — was in great chaos.

A few days before, when Fu Shen and his crew had just settled down, his little sister Fu Ling, the Prince of Qi’s wife, had dispatched people from her household to pay respects, bring gifts, and pass along the message that she was going to come and visit in person some other day. Fu Shen really didn’t have the strength to deal with her then, and also had misgivings about his Estate not being her proper maternal home. Fearing that the Prince of Qi would get suspicious, he turned her down on the spot. “There’s no need. Have her take care of herself, first.”

  2. I quite didn’t understand why Fu She won’t allow his sister to visit 🤔

I just fell in love with Fu Ling and her husband. Such a lovely pair, hope they would be happy till the end🥺🤞

  3. Fu shen and fu ling’s sibling relationship are both sad and lovely (how could this be a thing?) ahhh it made me both soft inside but also sad qvq I’m sure fu shen isn’t a bad brother but just disconnected and unreachable.

  4. Literally, on my deathbed, “that translation of Golden Stage was fucking awful. *flatlines*”

I laughed at this, sorry xD
But I really understand when “Holding Onto My Man” turned into mtl nightmare.
May I know what’s the novel’s title you mentioned?

    • At the time, it was “I’ve Led the Villain Astray, How Do I Fix It?”, and the MTLer’s posts ended up getting deleted for reasons unknown to me, but was grateful for anyways.

Now if only the joker posting their word salad for Thousand Autumns would get the hint and do the same. :)))

  5. Thank you thank you thank you for picking this up! I really liked this novel based on the premise and what some reviewers (that can read Chinese) have said about it. Super excited that it’s being translated again.

Btw, I actually tried MTLing it for myself because I got a little desperate…but while some Chinese novels are painful but still understandable MTL’ed….the translation came out really terrible and pretty much unreadable using MTL. Maybe because of the ancient China setting? Anyways, thanks again!

  6. HI CHICHI THANK YOU I LOVE YOU another of penhappyjournal’s got picked up by that jackass which crushed me because I’ve been guarding that empty city by making so much fan content for it only to have the translation butchered…. and they don’t even upload full chapters unless you give them ad revenue AND patreon money.

Also Golden Stage is just a really good novel and I’m just pawing at you THANK YOU FOR THE CHAPTER!!!

    • FFS, is THAT why that chapter was so short? I thought it was weird. Aside from the stupid amount of ads, that is. I feel like something about that isn’t legal.

If I had the time, I’d take on that one, too. And I’d start by uploading the half they ‘forgot’ just to be a grade A jerk.

  7. Hey, thanks for picking Golden Stage up! I haven’t had any chance to continue the translation over the past few months due to how badly my schedule ramped up (like literally this busyness will not end for another two years lol).

While there’s no way I can invest the multitude of hours to put in the full effort of translations anymore, I just wanted to say—I love this novel so much that if you ever need an editor, I can probably help with that.

    • !!!!! Hello! You’re the reason I even knew GS existed!! Thank you for introducing this happiness into my life, haha.
I’m sorry for your busyness. I hope it’s the good kind of busy, at least.

I don’t really keep an ‘official’ editor because I have really bad scheduling habits and would probably drive a sane person nuts, so I just do a once-over of my own proofreading before publishing. There isn’t a doubt in my mind that I’m going to miss stuff, though, so if you ever see a typo or some awkward wording, please do let me know.

  8. Yesss thank you soooo much for picking up this novel!!! 💜💜💜

I share the same feelings as you. I read some of the novel in Chinese and it was a master piece and it would’ve been so regretful if they MTLed and then just copied and pasted the gibberish and then my brain cells would have to do gymnastics to figure out what’s happening.

thank you soooo muchhhh 🙏 I bet your a great translator :)))

  9. This is a happy day! I wasn’t expecting someone else to pick this novel up!! How nice of you!!!!!! THAAAAAANKS!

Fu Ling is such a great sister. I hope she doesn’t forget about his older brother. They’re so cute together.

Huh?! That arrow is a threat! Why? He’s down already… what else do they want with him?
